About

Dear Visitor,

Dominus Vobiscum!

I am a sentimental person interested in the old world charm and its’ culture. My likings are to things which are of Christlike/Christian value and of philosophical interest.

I am a medical doctor by profession, reading for my Postgraduate degrees in General/Internal Medicine. I also serve as the Pipe Organist of the Church of St Francis of Assisi, Mt. Lavinia, Sri Lanka.

My friend, I hope and pray that my blog will be of interest and use to you and will be a blessing to you in any mysterious way our God works in.

Deus benedicat tibi!

Dr Shehan Silva

‘Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen.. do: and the God of peace shall be with you.’ (Phillipians 4:8-9)

Congrats on your blog! Thanks for posting ‘The Hymn of Ceylon’. When I was a student at Lakphana Adventist College, Mailapitiya, Kandy, my English teacher, Mrs. Jothy John, a Tamil lady, taught us this hymn.

Just curious, is this an English rendition of the Sinhalese song: DB, or vice-versa?
